trigger guard

You know, I don't think you should worry at all about the coverage of the trigger on your holster in this situation. The Beretta double action first pull takes approx 15-16 lbs of pressure to pull a very long trigger path. If the holster were for a single action pistol like a BHP or 1911 pattern I might consider more coverage, but really what are we talking about here. It's IWB, the triggers covered and how likely is something going to get into such a small area and actuate a ND.

Just my 2 cents

Trigger Guard

There are alot of mixed feelings, as far as I can tell, regarding the trigger guard. A friend in LE has his TLE RL with light and the trigger is 1/2 way exposed and he likes it. My brother, at times, wants total coverage due to the fact he may use it while hunting.
I think it is something I should ensure I ask the customer while taking the order. I would rather be safe than sorry, so to speak.
Ironically, the gun shown is a Taurus knock off that I carry cocked and locked... I have no trouble with that or a similar (1911/HP) because that carry configuration is second nature. My first carry gun was a 1911, so...
It's food for thought for my building and something I didn't really think to ask.
Thank you all for your feedback and thoughts!! Keep 'em coming.

It's a bit hard to tell from photos of this size, but it looks like maybe you don't smooth out the "tracks" left by the stitching machine? Some custom holster makers do that...

Walking foot...

Yeah, I try but some leather is nicer than the other. LOL.
I take the back end of the boning knife and push/smooth as best as I can. There is alot of weight on the leather from the foot; more than I could probably put down.

But great point!! I will try and find a different method to rid that. That does annoy me because everything looks smooth until you look at the walking foot tracks. Like an elephant thru the mud. LOL.

Thanks. This is great; alot more things to put on the board to remember!!

Cheers!!!

I don't know if it's an improvement but it's very nice!

Since I have several VM-II's, if I got another IWB holster I would be looking for one that seats the gun a little deeper. Just a thought.

This rig is for a 92F/M9. It is cow with Bali shark on the mag pouch and holster; the belt is a type of reef shark from Mexico. (They are two seperate orders... but I thought they would look pretty cool together.)

The shark on the mag pouch is the natural shape. I only trimmed it at the top; I thought it looked pretty cool that way.

The belt is my second shark belt; I am wearing the first one because it had some stitch imperfections. (I needed a new belt anyway. LOL.)

The shark design on the holster is inspired by Eric from HBE Holsters. Eric was kind enough to look at some of my work and give his opinion. I took his advice and changed some things and feel better about myself and my work. However, there is more work and learning ahead.

I look forward to the comments and would like to thank my customers for their imput and the advice of other holster makers who took the time to talk to me and share some of their knowledge and thoughts.

Cheers.

Very nice rig Dave! The shark from Mexico is very nice! and much easier to work with in my opinion.

Yes I know, I went to purchase more today but someone named Dave just bought the last of it.

Unfortunately the Mexican skins are too short to make belts with without splicing.

Anyways nice work!
