I wear at around 4:00. I've never tried appendix carry--too old and set in my ways.

3:30 - 4:00 has worked best. 2:00 with the spare tire is uncomfortable!

Generally, just behind the side of the hip. Better comfort, and the butt end of the gun rides closer to the body.

If IWB with a single snap loop, it tends to be 7:30 (lefty). If a wider IWB holster with double snap loops, it tends to be 8:00 or 8:30. Allows the gun to ride more tightly against the body.

If OWB (Fist #18 paddle, Galco Yaqui paddle, not a pancake), I tend to have it at 9 o'clock.

I'm at 3:00 if I wear it 3:30 or further back the barrel or holster hits the ischial seat molded in my prosthetic limb (right leg AK) and jacks the rig up with every step.

I have a Mitch Rosen clip on that I carry a S&W 1911PD in, right in front of my front right pocket.

Real comfortable and real fast to grab.

4:00 am or pm. Anywhere toward the front will pinch at some point when sitting or bending.

I say for me 3:00-3:30'ish.
Any further forward digging things out of my front pocket gets difficult and any further back bulges out my wallet more.
