I carry one in a Milt Sparks VMII quite often and it works well. That holster plus a beltman belt keeps it comfortable and concealled well.

"Anyone carry a 5 inch 1911 IWB?"
All the time; even as I sit here. Admittedly it's a bit heavy, but it's the first one I ever carried so I kind-a got used to it early on. I frequently carry it under just an un-tucked T-shirt (T-shirt and jeans about 9 months of the year, here in Central Texas) without problem. I'm not a real big guy, either - 5'11" at 195 lbs, and mesomorph. To be fair, the fact that my shoulders/chest are larger than my gut/butt (workin' on that, tho! ) adds "drape" that helps mask the holster; that's part of why some people can carry a particular gun, and others can't. YMMV. Good luck.Stay safe, Chuck Brick.

I carry a 5" 1911. I prefer OWB at 4:00 in my Desantis Speed Scabbard. Occassionally I carry IWB at 4:00 and have a makeshift holster (JIT) that does OK for now. I am lobbying my CFO (wife) for a good IWB from fellow member Silver Wolf for Christmas.

Almost every day. I carry a full size (usually a Wilson Combat CQB) 1911 in a VM2 at 9:00 most days. I use a Wilderness Instructor belt, usually a tucked T Shirt and jeans with an open button down shirt as a cover garment, though a properly sized Polo hides it quite well too.

I carry my Kimber Custom II in a Milt Summer Special with a Wilderness belt. I am very comfortable most of the time. I do recommend wearing an under shirt. Although I am in the market for a new IWB holster. My American Bulldog/Boxer mix chewed the end of my Milt holster off

Same as KevinDooley states...Bluegrass holster. Can't wait for the OWB that I ordered.
In the meantime, I have been carrying full sized Springer Loaded 5" in a IWB by Brommeland. Let metell you, this holster is GREAT! Conceals the gun well and I can hardly til I have it on. Believe it or not. So, waiting on the Bluegrass OWB KitCarson. Looks like great quality for about $60...how in the world can you go wrong? Aside, I chatted with the owner of B'grass and he is a nice guy. He even got me in on the Labor Day Weekend special which saves me 10% and shipping. |

I have in the past before I started carrying a Commander sized (4 1/4") 1911. It was just as comfy in a VM-II.
