When I carry my 5" 1911 IWB, it's in a clipon made by John O'Rourke.

All the time. I have carried it in a Galco Royal Guard for the last 20 years.

When I carry my 5" 1911 it's in a Mitch Rosen ARG Express Line Holster.

The 5" 1911 is easy to carry IWB and I don't even own an OWB Holster for it.

CLIPDRAW for 1911 Standard/Compact In the winter time I have carried my RIA with the clipdraw. One draw back is that if I have to go inside a "no gun" building when it is cold outside, re-holstering is a bit chilly. Otherwise, it is about as natural as owb. Nice Para!

Used too. Swapped to a 4" SA Champ and am now carrying a BHP. Carried the 5" in a HBE Leatherworks COM III. Was very comfortable but fell in love with the champ. Carries just as well as the other 2 without having to deal with the problems that come with the shorter barreled 1911's. JB hit it right the first time with the original design. Just make sure you buy a GOOD holster/belt and you should be good to go. BTW I am a big guy at 5' 7"'s and 165 lbs. so one's size is not important. It's all in the holster, belt and shirt you are wearing to keep it concealed. As you can see from the pics I upgraded to the Benchmade knife from the Cold Steel Ti-lite.

Whenever I carry my 5" Model 1911, I carry it IWB. No problems whatsoever.

I have a couple of times and found that while it was comfortable the problem I had was more with my short torso than with the gun.

My problem was when I went to draw the gun my hand was smashed up into my armpit before the barrel ever cleared the holster.

I could carry the 5" more easily in an SOB holster than IWB for the speed of draw.
