Vehicle Carry

Does anyone have anything rigged to carry a weapon in your vehicle or do you simply put it in the glove compartment?

I rigged my old Smartcarry holster to strap onto drivers set. Pouch sits in front of seat just above floor between legs. Works on longer trips when I'm IWB carry with easy access.

I just shove mine in the crack between the drivers seat and console and throw a rag over it. If I'm carrying a passenger or its a short trip, it's on my right hip.

I've got an old Galco Summer Comfort holster that I'll put my EDC in when it's not on my person.....but I haven't rigged anything specificly for mytruch.

In my old pick-up I had an old Fobus paddle rigged in the seat cover between and just under my legs. Carried my P229 perfectly.

I have a SUV that has built in reinforced mesh holders across the back of both front driver and passenger seats. On longer trips I have a holster with velcro on the back that I put in the top tier open mesh holder on the back of the passenger seat. I fold a single sheet of newspaper over this and can very quickly access the weapon with my right hand simply by reaching between the seats and back a bit to the right. Since its about chest high the draw and then bringing it to the front can be done very quickly.

I know that galco has a holster that goes over the seat and you tuck the gun in between your legs on the front of the seat. Looked nice, but i cant find the link. Anyone?

that is an interesting concept. so, would you leave the pistol in the holster when you get out? if not, that would involve a case scenario which could involve some unwanted exposure which could lead to some curb side chatting with the local authorities.

just a thought!
