While it is not a great holster, it would be much better than leaving the gun at home. Don't get me wrong, it isn't something that I'm going out to buy, but if you want to conceal a small gun and fool the general public, it may work out for you.

I just find it strange that numerous people on the site talk about how great the SmartCarry is but slam this one.

Whatever the demo-dude is using, it does appear to have a longer drop than the 'pager pals' I have seen (and no, I have not bought one )
It does seem like the extra drop might help the usability, but I don't think I like the absence of some sort of retention.

Anything that fits everything, tends to fit nothing.
Says me, anyhow.

Well, I can't vouch for the smart carry, but I did try the pager pal and it was garbage.

Ha ha ha! No thank you. Not in a million years.

I'll stick to my Blackhawk SERPA thanks.....I used to be a little fatter than that guy and I still wouldn't have carried that way!

The Serpa is a fantastic holster, but with just a shirt and pants, wearing no vest, jacket etc...your Serpa wouldn't conceal.

Rebmik, I hope I can help you out a little here. I use the smartcarry system myself, and I love it. During the summer months I am usually wearing shorts, T shirt. The type of shorts I wear are the ones with the elastic waist band. This makes it really easy for me to get to my choice of CCW, and sence I have funiture desiease (my chest has fallen into my drawers), these type shorts are comfortable for me to wear. The smartcarry is soft and can be positioned, even with a 1911, so that when you sit down nothing pokes you! That wasn't the case with the old pager pall, or the newer cell pall. Anything that goes into your pants and is not soft or bendable, will poke you when you sit down. Now that the weather is cooler, here where I live, I will no longer be wearing those comfortable shorts. As I said, I'm a little over weight, so my jeans have to be cinched up tight! No more smartcarry! I'll just CC with my choice of CCW in a belt slide, either under a shirt, or jacket. Personally, I could never get my weapon with the smartcarry system if I were in long pants with a belt.
