Concealment Options for Winter v. Summer

Just curious how many of you change the way you carry in the Summer vs. Winter? I find that I love IWB carry (usually my Glock 27), however in the Winter time I find it rather hard to get my pisol through three or four layers of clothing, when carrying IWB. OTOH, if I OWB, I can fold my shirt, sweater, etc. behind my pistol and just have to move my jacket to get to my pistol. Any thought or comments?

I change over, for a few reasons. During the warmer months, I carry an Ruger LCP .380, because of its ease of carry, and its extreme light weight. When it gets colder and I wear more clothing, I switch to my CZ-75 PCR Compacty 9mm. Because it packs more of a punch, I feel more secure in the wintertime, becuase I am also assuming the BG wears more clothing as well.

I use the same guns no matter what.

In summer, OWB due to longer cover shirts.
In winter, IWB due to shorter cover sweaters and shirts.

Always pocket carry in pants all year and coat during the summer.

Why can't you fold your shirt behind your IWB like you do your OWB? Same for me year round, even when I go up to cold country.

Because I like to carry my Glock 27, it doesn't offer as much "gun" (as only the butt of the pistol is exposed) to tuck anything behind, this is much more easily accomplished with an OWB carry method.

I mainly go to OWB carry in winter months with my full size pistols under a jacket as opposed to IWB carry in warm weather in t-shirt and jeans with my compact or sub-compacts. I may explore different options this winter though........I've been in places that are too warm to keep a jacket on all the time. We'll just have to see how this plays out. I've been doing some appendix carry with my G27 in a Don Hume IWB and have it down to where sitting with it is relatively comfortable. I hardly ever zip up my jackets or wear a closed front outer garment.
