| Defensive Carry Holsters & Carry Options There are some really good defensive carry holster designs, as well as some very bad ones on the market today. Whether you are in the market for a new holster or just discovered another perfect carry option, let us know about it here. |

BBQ Holster for 2-1/2" Python
I just picked up a very sweet 2-1/2" Royal Blue Colt Python. At first I was dead set against carrying it, and probably won't very much, but then I got to thinking that it would make a very nice BBQ gun with the right grips and holster. So now I am in the market for both.
I am leaning toward either Sambar Stag or American Elk grips, but have been at a loss finding a nice holster for it that won't screw up the finish. Anyone got any ideas? ![]()

I traded one of my 1911's for it. I figured the value at $1200 to $1300.

You've already have a great gun, why not use a great holster?
Search out Fist holsters (see above 'Related Links')... Great leather, good prices, and quick delivery. I have dozens of their products...no bad ones yet. Stay armed...use quality holsters...stay safe!

Alright, I guess it has to be me that says it...
They don't make Pythons anymore! I've got three myself, a 4" blue in unfired condition, a Hunter (Halliburton set) that I bought new and is unfired, and a 6" K-Series stainless that is my shooter. That 2-1/2" blue Python (the rarest of barrel lengths) IS going to show some holster wear if you carry it even if only occasionally. That wear, or having it reblued, will diminish it's value immensely. In short, it's too 'purty to use other than maybe an occasional trip to the range. But subjecting a clean 2-1/2" Python to holster wear?... Never! ![]() Serious; a 2-1/2" S&W 686 would make a GREAT BBQ pistol AND a practical carry revolver besides. Plus, you can even drop it a few times and you won't feel like you just killed your own child like you would if you dropped the Python. My .02, but it's worth, like, a million dollars... |
