Same thing happened with mine.
Just wear it for a bit and it will break in a bit.

Also, I tend to push my thumb down on the extended part of leather to aid in drawing. sort of a thumb break if you will

Make sure you work a good leather dressing in it.
After a few days of wearing it, the leather will conform to your body and to the gun; you'll find yourself tightening the retention screws !
I have more holsters than I can remember, the M-TAC is the one I prefer ... so far.

Plus 1 on what JFL said. Wear it and it will adjust to you.

As many of us have mentioned before, the MTAC (especially when new) locks in the gun due to the flex of the holster around the hip and the kydex shell locking onto the trigger guard. It has nothing to do with the retention screw -- you could back it all the way out and it would still happen.

IMO you don't want to just wear it like that for SD while waiting for it to break-in -- you might need to draw in a hurry tomorrow. So most of us have figured out workarounds to solve the problem immediately, usually either:

1. Heat the kydex around the trigger guard carefully, using a hair dryer or heat gun, and soften or flatten the molding so that it is less "grabby."

2. Simply get in the habit of slightly twisting the grip towards your body as you draw. It doesn't take much at all, and doesn't slow the draw either since it becomes such a tiny part of the drawing motion. This is what I do, as it doesn't require holster modification, and shouldn't interfere with other holsters if you get in the habit of always doing it.

After awhile the effect should be reduced by break-in, or in what position you wear it. Wearing it closer to the hip bone will make the holster bend more and cause it to lock in, whereas a flatter position will probably have less of an effect.

Thanks again, It has become tricky breaking this holster in, I have had it on for 72 hours during the weekend, I forgot i had it. I have gotten the cant just right. The draw will take some time, but i will get there. This holster is great. Thanks for all the help.

+1 for MTAC

Personally, I like the locking feature, I've practiced enough that it's just natural to draw as dmorris68 has explained and having the assurance that no one or nothing is going to get my weapon out of it's holster except for me, I've also found a good gun belt makes a big difference in carrying and using this holster.

I have both the standard clips and the "c" clips. I primarily use the standard clips. However, last month I was out to eat and when I leaned forward in my chair the bottom of the clip got caught on the seat and stretched one of my clips. There is now a gap at the bottom of the clip. This would be less likely to happen with "c" clips. Therefore, my MTAC now wears the "c" clips.

I usually wear my VM II. But when I wear a shirt and tie I like to tuck my G27 in the MTAC.
