Comp-Tac MTAC is a bit tight
I bought an MTAC holster for my new Sig P229 and it's really tight fitting. I'm assuming that with time it will loosen up a bit? As it is right now I had to loosen up the screws a bit in order to be able to draw at all.

Yup Yup. It will work its way in when the leather forms to your ccw. Be careful with the screws I just lost one of mine along with the rubber washer I have just e-emailed Comp-tack. Try a little silicone spray in the kydex. People also have said to make extra holes between the holes u already use on your belt. I just found when drawing my M&P .40c over and over an over, the holster wormed up to me. It takes a bit to break it in; I have had mine 1 month now I still have some braking left

I had trouble drawing from my MTAC until I read a tip about them. The trigger guard dimple is grabbing onto your gun when you try to pull it out, BUT if you twist your gun grip a little bit in toward your body (and away from the dimple) you'll find that the gun slides out much easier. Try it out.

Since it's half leather, it'll require some breaking in. I had the same issue at first. After a coulpe of weeks I had to tighten the screws a bit.

I had the same problem with my MTAC - just couldn't get the gun out.
I called Comp-Tac and they said the dimple was too high and I should send it to them so they could adjust it. I asked if I couldn't heat it and fix it myself to save the postage. They said any user modification voids the warranty. They also said that the metal frames have a lot more trouble with this than polymer frames.

I agree that it is most likely due to the newness and the dimple. Also keep in mind that the tighter your gun belt is around your waist, the more retention you will have. Your gun belt should "carry" the weight of the gun, not necessarily hold your pants up.

Exactly !!!
Mine was so tight I had to loosen the screws quite a bit; after 8-10 days of wearing it, I had to tighten the screws a little mor every few days; then it stabilized; didn't touch for a month. I did apply a liberal dose of silicone spray on the kydex ( I always do that on kydex) and a good leather dressing on the leather - makes it softer. Good luck and enjoy it, it is a great holster !
