Break in a new holster?
Hey guys, looking for some advice. I got a simple Bianchi leather IWB holster for my EDC gun. I've practiced drawing and holstering with it but it doesn't seem to be loosening at all. It's a leather holster.
Right now, 9 out of 10 times, when I draw the weapon, the holster comes with it. The other 1 time, it's REALLY hard just to get the gun out. Likewise, it's really difficult to get it back in. It was made for my gun, so it should fit it...right? Any advice you guys can give to loosen the holster up a bit will be appreciated.

I used the wax paper trick on my Max Con V and it worked perfectly. Wrap your gun in wax paper and put it in and out of the holster a few times and then let it sit in the holster for a few hours to overnight. Worked for me.

You can try either wrapping your gun in saran wrap or put it in a Walmart bag overnight. Leave it for 24 hrs and try again. If its still not lose enough, try another wrap around the gun and then re-holster. Others have claimed that wax paper will do the same.

is it really just as simple as wrapping it in a plastic bag and then holstering?

You have to make sure and do it in very small increments. If you were to stretch it too big, by even a small amount, there's no going back. Try to use the bag overnight and then if that doesn't work you could try two bags. Take your time here and get things right.
Good luck!

Yep, leave it over night or all day. Should do the trick. I have used walmart bags on all my new leather holsters.

Personally, I prefer the wax paper myself. I think some of the wax transfers to the leather helping to lubricate it a little bit. Drawing the gun seems a little smoother after using the wax paper vs using plastic bags only.
