Same here. Much easier to handle with only 5 rounds, especially if you have fat fingers like me!

Another thing to consider about the 5 vs 6. If, heaven forbid, I should ever become forced to draw and fight, and really not looking forward to needing to reload (should have stayed home that day), shift the paradyme. Just because the strip holds 5 or 6 rounds does not mean 1) that you have to wait till the gun is empty to reload 2) that you have to reload all the rounds in the strip.
It is really about keeping the gun running. Just a thought. |

And the nice thing is, I can carry two-or three-of these little critters more easily than I can a single speed loader. So, 5 or 10 vs. 6 or 12 sort of evens it out for me. I can make a hobby out of gadgets for my J-frame, though.

I have never carried a j frame or a revolver for that matter.
How fast can you reload it with a speed strip if you practice etc...? I have seen people reload pretty quick with a speed loader but I can see why people would prefer a strip because of the bulk factor. |

I carry 6 just because I think that extra round might be the deciding factor that will save your life.

Depends on how good I am that day, but the average seems to be 6 - 10 seconds if I really focus. |

I've gotten pretty fast, once the strip is out I can do it well under 5 seconds. Of course with only the timer as any sort of stress..... I tried it with 6 but much prefer 5 in a row starting from the top, with the last space and the tab free to manipulate, particularly in the right watch pocket of jeans. I can switch the weapon to my left and quickly deploy the strip.
