five-o shoulder holster?
I just watched an old rerun of the show and noticed the holster that Macgarret was wearing. It looked like it was just a loop that went around his left shoulder with a vertical holster, didn't appear to have any attachment points.I wonder how that would really work.It looks like it would be easy to put on and off.anybody ever see one of those in real life?sj

yes i got one for the j-frame. it is a leather loop that goes on the left arm/side with a elestic band that goes across the back to the right arm. it works well for a small gun like the j-frame.

Jack Lord's shoulder holster was a Hollywood prop, just like his gun. Without the supporting cross strap, there would be nothing to keep the main harness from slipping off the shoulder.
Totally impractical for real life.

I had one or still do in one of my holster BOXES. Mine was made by Bianchi. Leather over the left arm with a vertical holster and elastic strap that goes around the back over the right arm as frankmako stated. I used to carry my model 19 S&W in it 20 years ago. The bottom of the holster had a strap that went around the belt and snapped back to the holster. The problem is when you leaned over or to the side the gun was on it would not stay close to the body and hang. If I leaned to the right the shoulder strap would pull your belt up, not a very comfortable rig for sure. The more I think about it, if I still have it, IT'S FOR SALE...
