S&W 686 3" holsters?

Has anyone here ordered a custom holster for a 3" 686? I'm thinking about getting one of these guns but since the 3" size is fairly new I didn't know if there were many holster options available.

I'm only interested in OWB concealment holsters, preferably a pancake style, and I would only want it if it was available with exotic skins, which rules out quite a few makers. I checked the websites of some of the makers I like and of the ones that had a gun availability list, none listed the 3" 686. Of course, the lists may not be up to date and the ones that don't have an actual list will need to be contacted, but before I do that I thought I would ask here first.

I would appreciate any and all help and suggestions. Thanks.

3" L-Frames are not all that new.

Before U.S. Customs switched to the Glock and Sig they issued a 3" 686.

I ordered one from Brock (Bluegrass Holsters) for my 2.5" 686, should be arriving soon.

He did not have an exact mold, but was willing to take on the challenge.

I'm betting it's going to work just fine, will let you know soon....I hope!

Looks like he's doing shark.

Bluegrass Holsters | Welcome to Bluegrass Holsters

Bluegrass is one of the places I checked since I've been wanting to try him out and see if his holsters are as good as they look, but since he didn't list a 686 at all I was discouraged. But I would be very interested in hearing what you think about your holster when you get it.

Thanks for the help!

It's not a K-Frame, but Lou Alessi built me a Belt Slide for a 3" N-frame. (I used to live in AK.) It's the cat's meow, and I'm sure he could do something for the 686.

Well, I like the way you think; Lou would definitely be at the top of my list. Unfortunately, I checked with him last year about a holster for one of my N-frames and the Belt Slide is not available with exotic trim, which I must have.

I did order some CQC-S's with shark trim for my autos, but that was in October of last year and I'm still waiting on them. With his medical problems putting him so far behind I don't think he's taking any new orders anyway, but a CQC-S for a 3" 686 would really be something.

Thanks anyway for the thought!

I didn't realize that. Sorry to throw chaff in your thread.

Give Milt Sparks a call.

PS: I was trying to be helpful in my previous post, as 3" guns are not that "new". My all time favorite is the Model 13 with a 3" Barrel. That was the issued gun to countless F.B.I. Agents back in the day.
