Sitting on your holster

I just purchased a S&W and have a uncle mikes pocket holster, which brings up a odd question...

I like carrying in my back pocket as it is more comfortable then the front with some of the jeans I wear, however Im not sure it's a good idea to sit on the firearm.. anyone use a pocket holster in the back pocket?

I do plan on buying some more relaxed fit so the pockets will be larger, but just concerned about the back pocket safety wise, any comments?

If the trigger is covered by the holster I do not see how it is a safety issue to sit on your revolver and long as it is not cocked.

I prefer front pocket carry because I find it more comfortable.

There are pocket holster made for rear pocket carry do you have one.

The reason I ask is that I have only seen Uncle Mike's holseters made for front pockets.

I'm with Pgrass. I'm about to start pocket carrying a PM9 in my back pocket. Everyone else on our team has been doing so for a long time with nary an issue.

I don't have one made for the back pocket, uncle mikes is suppose to be for the front. However, when I tried it in my back pocket it conceals nicely and my draw looks if i was reaching for my wallet.. I will try and find one made for the back pocket. Thanks for the help

There are several companies on here in the Holster links section that sell nice leather backpocket holsters that just look like a wallet in your back pocket.

No problemo! Tough to draw when seated though!

My K&D Pocket Defender 2-in-1 can be either a front pocket or rear pocket holster just by adding/removing the panel. I don't use it for rear pocket carry very often because I don't like sitting on my PM9. Rear pocket carry is more comfy if I'm standing or walking around a lot. If I do plan on sitting a while I can still move it up front and leave the panel in my back pocket. Still, it's mainly for front pocket duty unless I start running out of pocket space and need to keep it in my back pocket. Even then, I'll just usually go with an IWB holster instead ahead of time.
