Holster 1911 5"

Been reading on here and looking ath the links for holsters and I am starting to go crosseyed. Wanted to post to see what recommendation any of you all have for an OWB for a 1911 govt. My work has changed slightly to where I am wearing a dress coat daily. I would like to move to an OWB.

Carry right now IWB with CompTac c-tac. Have loved this. I have tried a yak paddle and although comfortable does not hold my weapon close enoguh to the body. Looking for leather I believe as well.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly welcomed.

There's a new holstermaker building an interesting combo holster. You could wear it IWB if you wanted also. I've played with one and they're very well built. Check out the Black Ops from Pure Kustom...

I like the looks of that Pure Custom holster too, and plan to get one.

At the moment, ,my favorite OWB is the Axiom from Milt Sparks.

Try researching Tucker. I have admired them from afar for a long time and just got my first. It is a beautiful piece of leather that holds my gun perfectly.

1911's look great in them, and they hold the gun so close that I am convinced it is as concealed as my IWB Kramers.

There are a lot of really good holster out there. My personal opinion is to go light. The .45 is already a heavy gun, why add to that weight with a large leather holster? I would recommend something like the Bianchi Minimalist Holster, or maybe the DeSantis Yaqui Slide Belt Holster. Let us know what you pick!

I use a Don Hume H721 open top for my Springfield Loaded 1911. It keeps the gun high and tight and I've never noticed it printing under a suit coat or casual jacket.

I have a Fist #12 basic for my XD45 and It carries really close to the body. Here is a link to their web site FIST, INC.
