My Homemade Kydex for Winter Carry

Here's my latest holster. It's for my winter carry Smith & Wesson 469. I followed the same pattern as my AIWB I did for my Sig P239 with a couple improvements.

I thickened the rear section that supports the grip end and widened both J-hooks to improve on durability. I maintained the curve to the clips I used on the Sig holster which helps with allowing the holster to bend with my waistline. The holster is easy on/off and is surprisingly comfortable. It holds the gun securely until I need to draw it which it does quickly.

The Smith & Wesson 469 is a double stack so it's not a thin gun. With a t-shirt draped over it's still noticeable that there's a lump, but it could easily pass for a cell phone and in no way looks like a gun. Here's a short little video I made that shows how easily it comes on and off and how it conceals.

Looks good!!!

Liked the video too...

Does it get in the way if you bend over at the waist?

Good job and nice little VID also.

Suggestion:
Next time that you make one - make 2 instead of one.

I have discovered that USUALLY whenever I am fabricating something that it's pretty much just as simple and almost as quick to make two.

Then...sell one on the forum & "Viola!" your Kydex is then paid for.

No it doesn't. The S&W has a short 3.5" barrel and so it fits nicely above where it would pinch or poke my groin or thigh. At least for now, my belly isn't too large & my pants are large enough to accommodate a pistol in the appendix position(& I'm continuing to work to it keep it that way). If the barrel were any longer it would get in the way. I found that out with my Tokarev clone. The appendix holster I made for it feels great while standing, but I have to reposition it before sitting or else ouchie.

Looks good . The wider rear clip should hold up much better during extended use. Another option might be to keep the body side of the holster with less gun shape molded in (more user comfort).

Very nice work. I suspect that you could sell as many as you make for weapons like- Kahrs, J frames, G19/23, G 26/27 Sub Compact XDs etc.
