i use the bare asset for my ruger p345 and it works well. sometimes wish i could cant it a bit more though. also have bare asset for my xd45 as well. next upgrade will be a belt and hopefully that should help out a lot. for those two being my first leather made to fit holsters i think i did pretty good. definately better than the universal ones i was using before i can say that much though

Aside from a better design, better materials and better construction, you might be on to something.

You got the better materials part right, but design? Its still just a "close enough" holster, 1 clip on holster body, And it was hard on my sigs finish. I still use it, but its drilled into my nightstand as a bedside holster.

I am - admittedly - a fan-boy of High Noon.

But, that said... The DO, indeed include some low end items in their product line.

I'm not going to blame them for offering "entry level" items, and I'm certainly not going to blame them for being unable to avoid the laws of the universe... "you get what you pay for"

"like an uncle Mike's, but made of leather" is probably a really good description of that particular holster.

I personally would recommend GotSig to go to a tail-gunner model (in horsehide) and see if you opinion doesn't change about them.... but that IS a lot more expensive.

Using 2 bare skin holsters
One for Walther P99 .40 Full size and one for Walther P99 Compact 9mm.

Materials-Excellent

Fit to pistol once they were worked in- Excellent (protects the trigger-guard mag release perfectly.)

Fit to body- Excellent

General comfort level- Excellent (am I wearing it?)

Pistol retention- Excellent A firm draw needed to put the pistol into use. You can shake it upside down and your pistol stays put.

Reholstering- This is not a strong point, takes practice and is not fast, however it is not what this holster was designed for. If you are looking for easy reholstering get one designed for that purpose.

It for the most part will do what it was designed for and do it very well at a price and turn around time that cannot be beat.

All the above is just MHO.

There is no doubt they have low end in their line up, I dont contest that one bit. However, I do contend that they are light years ahead of Uncle Mikes garbage.

Seriously, does it get any worse than Uncle Mikes?

I have never seen an Uncle Mikes that was worth the plasctic it was packaged in. Same with the Black Hawk stuff I see at every store. The one size fits all stuff is really a joke.

With the different choices we have for quality custom holsters that are very well priced why not go with that? LOL

Yeah lets put a killer gun in an uncle mikes....

I saw a guy buy an Uncle Mikes for his Nighthawk 1911. I couldn't believe someone would pay that kind of money for a pistol and then put it in an Uncle Mike's!! Different strokes for different folks I guess.
