I just got an XD sub-compact. I also got a SuperTuck for an IWB...but I'd also like an OWB for some times.
I'd like something fairly concealable, and also something that will secure the gun when doing any activity. I see that most people here have the fancy leather holsters, but does anybody use and/or like the fabric versions like Uncle Mike's makes: Uncle Mike's - Paddle Holsters I'd think that these would be concealable since they look like modern-material cell phone cases, camera cases, etc. And the thumb break would keep it in place. And ideas on these fabic types? If so, does anybody have any good recommendations for my XD sub-compact? Thanks. |

I had an uncle mikes for a Makarov I used to carry and could not wait to get rid of it. I fully understand if it is a cost issue and if it is I would suggest a Don Hume OWB. They are fairly inexpensive but pretty well made. My opinion is to save your money and dont but crap like Uncle Mikes. JMO.

Why protect a $600 pistol with a $16-$20 holster?

It's not the "cost" that concerns me. I'm looking to see if anyone uses, or is aware of, a good working fabric OWB. Uncle Mike's is what a local gun shop carries, and I noticed they had alot of fabric stuff. I don't care who makes it, and of course I want good quality.
I just need opinions on fabric or not...and which one to go with. On the weekends I do alot of moving around when working in the yard, I detail cars, etc. I thought a fabric (with thumb-break) might be more comfortable/flexible, and look less like a gun holster than leather. Thanks. |

I've got an XD-40 Compact and I bought a leather Tagua Quick Draw Belt Holster and got it for $35. I love this holster and highly recommend it.
