Home carry

So all of you guys who carry at home, please help me out with something. I am having a hard time figuring out how this works here in the real world...

When I get home from work, I take off the slacks and button up shirt and put on sweat shorts... see, I have been at work all day in stuffy attire and I want to relax in my home from about 5:30 to 10:00, when bedtime comes.

I just cannot see going home and taking off the slacks to put on a pair of jeans with a gun belt and holster. Lounging around on the sofa in my jeans all night doesn't sound relaxing. That is NOT comfortable.

Don't get me wrong, I know having a bad guy break into my house while my gun is not near me is even less comfortable so I don't need a lecture on the trade offs... I know them and that is why I am asking this question.

I can't really keep the gun close to me and at the same time have it safe from the kids unless it is on me. But I don't see a way to have it on me that doesn't suck... I also don't have a gun that I believe my elastic waist sweat shorts would hold up even if I just used a clip on holster. Buying a smaller gun is not an option for me.

I am interested in how you guys do it.

I've found that my sweat pants hold up my cell phone IWB holster quite well with my bersa thunder .380 plus. More often than not though, I have one in the vicinity (one on each floor of a relatively small house) rather than carrying 100% of the time.

Carry while lounging at home? Lots of good ideas on this thread. A lot of us use the SmartCarry.

A fanny pack works well for lounge wear.

I lounge around in my Boxers a lot.

What I do is put one of my guns in a zippered case, with the zipper open, and have it with me throughout the house. I'll make two trips to carry something, like chips, salsa and drink, from the kitchen to the sofa just so I can keep my gun with me. When I go to the bathroom, the zippered case goes with me.

I usually pocket carry, so that way I can wear jeans, shorts, sweat pants, dress slacks, whatever. No, I don't answer the door in my boxers or bvds thank you very much.

I take the jeans and shirt off and put on some shorts. The gun stays in the holster and sits on the cofee tabel in front of me while Im relaxing.

If I gotta go outside for anything I slip it in my pocket.

No big deal.
