Just received my High Noon Split Decision for SP101

Fellow DCers,

I just received a High Noon Split Decision Holster for a Ruger SP101 2" .357. I am still waiting for the gun to arrive since they're on backorder but I wanted to get some input from other forum members that might have this setup. It is my first wheelgun... I would like to have it as a second CCW (whem my G30SF is too big for the task) and eventually I will give it to my wife for her to carry with 38 +P when she is up to it.

Based on my experience, you'll love the Split Decision. Good choice since can be used as a tuckable or "regular" IWB. My SP101 is usually carried in the Split Decision, except for when I have to do a lot of on-off and I use a Galco Speed Paddle for that.

I just got one last week for my 1911. Looks very good. I will be recomending one to one of my buddies.

For the price, the Split Decision is hard to beat.

It does a good job at concealment, but it does not grip the gun well. Standing and normal daily routine is fine. I have, however, had my gun fall out while lying on the floor playing a board game with the kids. Keep the belt cinched tight.

Yeah, I tried Mr. Softy with SP101, same holster body seemingly as Split Decision.
Just didn't seem to be "enough holster" there to snuggle it in deeply enough (yes, I did all the break in stuff). Not for me, I'm afraid.

I enjoy my Split Decision. I do not use the tuck feature much. I can conceal the gun well but to me it looks like I have a tumor growing out of my side. It may or may not be noticeable to others but I feel like a freak with it tucked in. I just use the Smartcarry when I have to be tucked.

As far as, gun retaining I believe it has a tensioning screw to tightened the grip some. I have not had to use that feature as it fit my gun perfectly as sent.

I am satisfied with the SD as a IWB and I do not see myself buying another one anytime soon. But I can see how for many it will view the SD as a stepping stone holster.

I had to take the tensioning screw OUT, just to get it in deep enough to feel marginally secure.
