I have a belt made by the Beltman and it's great. I also have a Wilderness Tactical (5 stitch I believe) and it is also worth the money. It does rather look like a gun belt though. And I have a belt from Looper with a kydex insert that works great and it was relatively inexpensive. I'd recommend any of them.

I've wanted to try a Liger but have enough belts and can't justify spending the money on it.

I actually wear my Galco 1.5" tapered belt every single day, it's that comfortable. I have it in the Galco color Havana Brown and my Galco "Concealable holster for my H&K P30 and my sp mag carrier are all colored coordinated. Very comfy rig. Too bad it's rarely cool enough to wear it under comfortable cover garment here in South FL. That's why I stick to my Crossbreed Super Tuck Deluxe.

I put off buying a gun belt for a long time and finally gave in and bought one. World of difference between it and any other leather belt I've ever owned.

I hate to bring this up, but be as sure as you can that the belt will fit the holster(s) you use. For example the RafterS and the Beltman belts I have will not fit some of my holsters.
I am not sure if the makers of the belts always know, but I would ask.

Regards,
Jerry

I either use a Beltman or a Wilderness depending upon my dress. I always get a stiffener in my belts.

I'd be able to comment on a Sharkskin belt if I actually ever get it from Rafter S

Called and ordered from their stock almost 2 weeks ago, was supposed to go out via Priority, never got it, called them, told they had a "address problem" (ummm, OK why didn't you call me????), then told it was going out right away (last Thursday), still don't have it. If it doesn't come by tomorrow, I will be calling my CC company since it was instantly charged the first time I called to order.

Really sucks as I have had a Rafter S cowhide for years and it is well built. I don't ask for much, just decent customer service. Apparently, Rafter S's has gone by the wayside.

Probably 5 years ago I purchased three RafterS sharkskin belts. The CS was good then, and the lead time relatively short.
About 6-8 months ago I ordered two more shark RafterS belts. The CS stinks, and the workmanship was not nearly as good. From the inside the holes are not punched well and are ragged. Lead time was several times longer.

While you get a stiff belt at a very reasonable cost, the poorer workmanship, longer lead times, and poor CS plus the fact that they will not fit some holsters has resulted in my no longer recommending them.

Regards,
Jerry

Rafter's customer service flat out sucks. I bought a black sharkskin belt from them and when I first wore it, it leaked dye all over my shorts (never came out BTW). Della was great at first about getting me a replacement. She told me to send it in and they would get one out ASAP to me. I sent it in 12/08 and still have no belt. They now have my money and my belt. I've called and emailed dozens of times and when I actually get her on the phone she is full of excuses. She has told me several times over the last 4 months that it is going out the next day and still nothing. She now doesn't return emails or phone calls. What, do they think I'm going to go away? They are absolutely the worst business I have ever dealt with in terms of how they treat their customers. They are flat out thieves and an embarrassment to American business.

Conversely, I've bought two belts from The Beltman and have had outstanding customer service. Of course your mileage may vary but if I was considering buying a belt or anything from Rafter's, I'd do some internet searches to findout jh225 and myself aren't alone. My brother lives in Missouri and maybe he can get in touch with them for either my belt or my money. Della, if you are out there, please send me my money or a belt that doesn't leak dye that you originally promised me.

Oh man, I really wish I had done a little checking. I ordered without even thinking about it because my last belt from them has been a daily wear for years with zero issues and the price was a good $15 cheaper than elsewhere.

Screw that, your story absolutely seals the deal. If I don't get my belt in tomorrows mail, I will immediately pick up the phone and dispute the charges with my credit card company.
