IWB holster advice/preferences for J frame?

Need some advice on a holster for my S&W 642 j frame. I have carried this gun alot but always in a pocket holster or ankle carry.

I decided I want to carry this under my work clothes which consists of slacks and short sleeved button up untucked shirts ( Haggar shirts). I normally carry my other guns IWB with VMII's which work great but I was thinking this kind of holster might be kind of bulky for such a small gun. So basically I was wondering about preferences for this kind of carry, if thinner, maybe one belt strap holsters work well? And also your opinions on just carrying a wheel gun on your belt versus an auto, likes, dislikes?

Thanks in advance for any feedback you folks can provide.

I use a Don Hume or a crossbreed supertuck..when I am not pocket carrying. I must say it just disappears, when carrying IWB. Not as comfy,as pocket carry, but I carry IWB when wearing jeans....with a t shirt. No printing.

I'm waiting on a desantis "the companion" right now, but found out its on backorder. It'll go either IWB or OWB. Here is a link to the holster, but they don't show the style for a j-frame. Unfortunately I can't find any that show it on a j-frame. BUT, this holster, based on closeups from the seller and a serial number (026) comparison, is a companion. Hopefully its not just an old version b/c this is the style I'd really like.

J frame S&W grip

I like the Barami hip grip used in combination with a Tyler T grip, and I pull a piece of bicycle tube over them for a more secure grip.
I also have the J frame Mag-na-ported.
The 642 with Barami hip grip is very easy to cary & conceal.

Just received a Shirt Tucker from Comp-Tac about a week ago. Single, wide belt clip, very deep "tucking" ability between exterior of holster and interior of pants (if that made sense). Carrying a 638 S&W. While I've only had it a week, I'm very happy so far. Had a day or so of 70's weather so I was t-shirt tucked over and into jeans. Very good so far. And Comp-Tac is a great outfit to deal with (3 holsters so far). Good luck.

Go to the 'Related Links' above...search out Fist holsters.
I have over 30 of them and have never had a bad one.
Quality, reasonable prices, and quick delivery...costs nothing to look!
