Steve, I really can't answer the question because I have never owned a holster that has the slots. I prefer the snap on holsters because of my work. I have rather unusual hour and wear nice Dockers to work. When I come home I immediately change into a pair of Propper tac pants for wear around the house. They have a belt already in them and it's much easier for me to move the holster by unsnapping and resnapping than having to take the belt out. I like the way my K & D Laredo snap holsters support the pistol and the way they feel. Although I haven't used it much the Regulator has the same feel so I am very comfortable with it.

If I had to choose I would choose the slot holsters. I have both. There is a potential problem with the snaps regarding the fit of the belt and the snap loops. Both of my Laredo Defenders for a G26, and one for a compact 1911 would slide on the belt until I glued a thin piece of leather inside the loops. I used RafterS belts which are thicker than almost any other belt.
The Sparks Axiom does not have the problem as I have been able to use it with 1.25 belts although the snap loops are 1.5 inches. RafterS 1.5 belts are too wide for the Axiom, but it works well with the 1.25 and does not slide. OTOH the holsters with slots seem to tighten up, when the belt is tight, and do not slide even if the belt does not fit the slots tight. I think the slot holsters are a little more versatile as to the fit of the belt and holster. I do not find it cumbersome to remove or put on a slot holster. I am right handed, and it is just a matter of unbuckling and running the belt through 3 trouser loops. Takes just a few seconds. Regards, Jerry |

Nice holster George, nice looking little gun too.
Where did you go to find this "used" UBG holster?

I appreciate how crisp the boning is on his holsters. I bet it really aids in retention. Great find George! Bravo!

I have 4 UBG holsters, and I agree Nate's quality, price, and fast build time make them a phenominal deal.
I too prefer the Canute for it's snaps, but sadly because of how descretely I can remove it to lock up before entering a posted establishment.

I've got two holsters coming from Nate, a Canute and a Bonneville for my Kahr P45. Can hardly wait to see them.

Just so everyone will know my interest was not for myself, but for a friend who is a former LEO and just bought a Kahr CW9 to carry on his new job. He was looking for a good holster that wasn't too expensive and that he didn't have to wait months for. The timing was perfect. He just picked it up today. Since I had the holster and a pistol that fit it and my friend is not really a computer person I decided to do a review. I carry my CW9 in my left front pocket and should be posting a review of my new carry holster very soon. It should arrive in a week or so! ![]()
