Hip / IWB does not do the trick when I'm driving. Hard to access and IMO ucomfortable. If I'm by myself, in MI, I take it off, and put a coat over it in the passenger's seat. I'm always concerned how an LEO might react.

I'm considering the kingston car seat holster, but I'm concerned a LE might get nervious.

I like the Wilderness Safe Packer, and next long trip, I plan on giving it a try. I plan to leave it unclasped so it is easier to flip open the flap.

I need to get an ankle holster. It is a good option.

On trips, I can't find anything better. Keeps the gun under my conrtrol. Easy to access. Comfortable to carry when sitting. Can take it with me when I exit the vehicle.

I sometimes carry my Kahr in an IWB clip holster inside a fanny pack. If I have to get out of the car I go ahead and take my gun still in the IWB out of the fanny pack and wear it as normal. The holster is secured inside the fanny pack by velcro straps.

For a right hander, a shoulder holster works great.

I carry an XD.45 over my right rear pocket IWB or OWB either allows me to lean forward slightly while belted in to draw. Is comfortable while driving, in fact I don't notice it at all. IMO if you can not draw while driving you need to reconsider how you carry

southpaw here also, holstered while driving and depending on the
weather (warm/cold) iwb or owb.

I'm working on designing my own car/truck holster.
With 4 vehicles that I rotate between, I don't anything mounted that can't be swapped from one vehicle to the other. What will work with the Bronco, won't work in the Mustang, and what will work with the Kimber won't work the the Model 36.
My plan is a piece of fabric positioned crosswise of the seat cushion with an adjustable strap that will hook onto the seat frame below the upholstery and a strap to retain a holster that would hang down between the seat and the console. With the adjustable strap the length of the overhang can be adjusted, and with the strap to retain the holster I can easily change from one holster to another.
Once I get a few of these made for my family I'll post a picture of it.
If others are interested in how it was made I'll post that info as well, or possibly make these for those who might like one and can't make one themselves.

Shoulder rig on long drives, other times just the holster of the day...
