Carry while driving... how?

I've searched and only found discussions regarding leaving the firearm in the vehicle. (COM Safe, etc...)

My question is how do you carry while driving? Do you carry holstered as normal? Do you un-holster and keep it in arms reach? Do you have a "car holster"?

Just curious. Also, if discussed before, please point me there!!

I leave it in whichever holster I am using that day, no point in handling a firearm in public more than necessary.

I carry while driving just like I do while walking. Now...that's not to say I don't have other options available if the need arises.

Going any distance like a vacation I always use a shoulder holster. Locally I use just the holster that I usually wear.

I'll either use my IWB holster or if I have heavy clothing on in the winter I'll put on my blackhawk OWB holster and set that one up for cross draw. It'll all depend what I'm out and about doing.

+1

I have a concealed carry jacket if it's chilly out, or a concealed carry fanny-pak for warmer weather. Doesn't matter if I'm walking or driving.

You could try this. It is a holster for in the truck. I do not have one but have thought about it for trips.

For short trips, my sidearm is in it's normal holster. If something seems odd or the trip is a long one the weapon may be placed between the seats (easily unclipped)...or I may take along a second weapon of the same caliber.
Also on long trips, my wife would have her firearm with her...

I just carry like normal, wherever I go. I am lefty (shooting...converted righty when I was a kid), so it doesn't bug me to have my sidearm OWB or IWB with my seat belt.
