Eric seems to be a good guy and his products are first rate. Better to call or mail him for this reason: He checks his e-mail on his blackberry. So if you are trying to describe a color or shape or style, and you e-mail a detailed photo, he won't get it. Mail pictures or samples, call about orders.

Did you send payment before Eric requested payment? Usually the way he does business, he does not want payment until he calls you and tells you he's ready to cut the leather for your holster. It sounds to me like you ordered and paid all at the same time. Just keep calling until you get Eric on the phone. As another poster said, phone is a much better way of talking to him than email.

The instructions on his website say to fill out the form and send in a check. So I broke the routine, right from the start.

The deal with custom holsters, custom grips, custom anything is this - order it and forget it. A watched pot never boils. Delivery time will be four times longer than what you are told and fretting over it won't make it go any faster. A craftsman can't make holsters AND spend all day on the phone or answering emails so every time you contact him you are bringing production to a complete standstill for everybody on the roster. Multiply that by 1000 and it's amazing they do any work at all.

Just my opinion.
Hogwash! Reliable customer service is a reasonable expectation with any business, holster or otherwise!

I agree, and I do not deal with anyone who does not provide it. The customer should not have to go on bended knees and think the business is doing him a favor to provide what he wants to buy.

No one's product is that good, and the best makers in general give good customer service. In general I have found the majority of holster makers give good customer service.

If that happens to me, and it has, I do not deal with that business again. If one is so careless as to quote such unrealistic times he is not worth doing business with. If a person wants to do business with such a maker then have at it, but not me.

I do agree that when the order is placed it is best not to bother the maker until the due date is past by a week. But then we deserve to know what is going on.

Regards,
Jerry

I would want confimation too. I love my holster he made, it is top notch. I sent a friend to him and my friends paperwork had some how stayed on the bottom of the pile or something to that affect causing some delay. It was a good thing he called.
