Homebrew SmartCarry
I posted a link to info on one of my old websites for this some time ago, but as I will be taking it down soon I thought I should post it here again. Also, the search function wasn't finding it. Apologies for those of you who remember this from last time.
I made my own SmartCarry-style holster for an SP101 with a spurless hammer. While the roll takes the place of a retention strap, I still found this to be a very comfortable and easy holster to draw from. The photos give pretty much the whole picture (and more info than many probably want - again, apologies). ![]() ![]() Don't go out and try to develop a retention device like this: [yes, the goal is to lose weight] Conceals quite well under even with gym shorts: ![]() I put a vinyl layer on the back for a moisture barrier, with an open top to provide a document pocket. I then added fleece around the whole thing for comfort: ![]()

Retsup, thanks for your concern. But with a large enough girth, the barrel points at your toes.
See, there IS a reason for being this size! Also, I'm harder to kidnap.

As a well endowed gentleman, I've always shied away from underbelly holsters since when I sit down my profile changes. Downrange becomes a nebulous destination. I have a flat butt thus nothing to hold the strap. Think inverted funnel. Plus the idea of a rear sight digging into my overlap, and having to dig the thing out in a hurry if I need it...
