Supertuck kydex retention modification
I had to tweak the retention on my supertuck tonight. It was keeping hold of my 1911 a little too tightly. It felt ok initially but when I added pants and a belt, it got too tight.
They provided instructions - holster the unloaded gun, heat up they kydex with a hair dryer, protect the leather with a damp towel, wear gloves, etc. It took about 30 seconds of high heat to warm it up. The kydex sort of un-molded in the area I heated. I pushed back down on it to reform around my gun a little bit. The results were great, loosened up the retention quite bit and it works great with pants and a belt as intended. Kudos to Crossbreed, they make a nice rig. |
