IWB Leather / Kydex Condensation Problem w Supertuck

Hey, my first thread after lerking/reading a while. I found this post from a previous closed thread and I'm having the exact same problem (except I don't wear a t-shirt under my polo type short sleeve shirts). IWB, Glock 36, new Supertuck Crossbreed holster, which I love. Why is this thing condensing only on the side of the glock touching the leather. Only worn it 3 days and noticed rust this morning on the trigger.

I do have corrosive sweat. If it is not silver or gold, it will corrode away at any point touching my skin.

Now, I rarely sweat to the point where there are wet spots or dripping off. Even on slow, sitting around days it still happens.

I think that a re-coating of some sort is going to happen soon.

Wear on the gun I accept. That is going to happen with daily wear. Rust however annoys me.

The manufacturer of the holster is me, so I think I may try boiling the leather in Wax to seal it. If that does not do it, then I may have to try to get some horse hide.

You are sweating boss. is an undershirt out of the question-if not try some A-shirts "whife beaters", that will help a little bit. also take some neats foot oiland put on the under side lf the holster, this will help break in the holster and make it water resistant if not water proof after a few applications. you can also use some shoe polish on the gun side and this will keep sweat from coming throughand getting to you gun. just an after thought , i thought glocks were not supposed to rust.

If sweat is really that much of a problem, you might want to try a kydex holster since it sounds like you're getting rust on your firearm where it contacts the leather. This sounds like the leather is soaking up the sweat and transferring it to the firearm. Kydex would solve that problem. Blade-Tech offers the UCH (Ultimate Concealment Holster) which is kydex, with a reinforced opening, and is tuckable, just like your Crossbread. It might be worth checking out. You might still have some issues of the firearm contacts your body directly, but at least the Kydex would protect your firearm from moisture.

I also have a Glock (19) and am surprised to hear that you are experiencing rust of any kind. Is the trigger factory or modified? Is the firearm kept in a perpetually wet/humid environment? You might want to contact Glock as well as the problem might be a rare issue with the gun itself and might be covered under warranty.

It's a cool 70 degrees in our office, i don't think I'm sweating. I just went to the bathroom and looked at the gun and it had moisture on the inside of the gun that touches the holster. I guess body heat next to a cold gun could cause this, as I sit right over an air conditioning vent?? I'll try rubbing some oil on the holster to waterproof it. Factory Glock 36, no modifications to the gun.

Wax your gun with Renaissance Wax. It will not make your gun slippery but, will block out all moisture including sweat.
Search for it on Ebay. There is always some listed on there.
Buy the smallest container. A little bit goes a long way.

if you're wearing the gun , it shouldn't have a significantly different temp than your body. What is your cleaning, oiling regimen? Have you talked/emailed Mark from Crossbreed about this and asked for his recomendations?

No I haven't called CB yet. This gun doesn't get oiled / cleaned much, maybe once since I've owed it and it's only got 300 rounds thru it.

Ok, I think I may know why it was condensating. 4 hours outside working and a lot of sweat got the holster wet. The following 2 days are when it was showing moisture on the gun. It seems to have quit so I'm assuming this was just the moisture coming out of the leather and forming on the gun?? Does water leave leather like that?

I do a regular cleaning and lube with Mobil 1. I use Monitaur holsters and no problem It gets HOT here, 100* yesterday, hit 110* last year.

I do wear a t-shirt between the holster and I 99% of the time.
