No, but I did try one called IPS Weld On 3 which was the one recommended on a knife forum and I was disappointed with those results.
Good advice though & I'll try that one. Have you tried IPS Weld On 4784 it melts nice???? You may need to wait a little longer for it to reach full strength.. "TIME TO REACH 80% OF ULTIMATE BOND STRENGTH: 72 hours" |

[/IMG]Here it what I made for my PPS . It rides fairly high and can be worn appendix to small of the back and still work. I find appendix carry to work the best for most of my carry needs. I like to use a testors model paint pen or a white wax pencil to mark out my rivet points and cut lines. Also I bevel the edges with the dremel sanding disk , so no sharp edges.

My Kydex work is, being charitable, "rustic" by comparison, yet it gets the job done. And for IWB that's good enough for now. But I would love to develop skills like you guys! Was that a router bit on a Dremel or a full-size router? Suppose the Dremel's router bit, freehand, would work?

KYDEX to KYDEX adhesives
The key to adhesives for KYDEX is to use ones that are THF (tetrahydrofuran) based. These will all do the job, if you follow the application recommendations: IPS Weld-On 4052, 4007 and 1007 (IPS Corporation)
A great adhesive (although not as readily available) is made by Adhesive Engineering and Supply (Extreme Adhesives - www.extremeadhesives.com) called 'Extreme 310' which is available in a black. For some stuff available at the local DIY (but not as strong as the above for bonding KYDEX to KYDEX) are the Devcon Plastic Welder and Plastic Welder II, which are two component adhesives. In all cases, use of an alcohol wipe before bonding increases the bond dramatically, as it removes the lubricant additives used during the extrusion of the sheet. |
