I always wanted a CQC/s. Glad to see they are still being produced.

Give Tom a call 716-706-0321 and ask him. I am sure if he can accommodate you he will.

A week or so ago I received two CQC/S holsters from Tom at Alessi. The 1911 was too loose, and I sent it back. I should know next week what he intends to do about it. Tom was very nice, and I am sure he will fix the problem either by tightening it up as he said or that he will build me another.

The other was for a J frame. The muzzle end was not sewn all the way up the end, but is glued, and I feel sure it will not loosen. One thing I do not like is that I have to wiggle the gun to get the cylinder to enter the holster. I have two other J frame holsters, Fist and Bluegrass, that do not require wiggling, and fit as tightly.
The Alessi is satisfactory and I do not want to go to the effort to return it.

While I do hate to post this, I also believe that we as a group have a great interest in the experiences of others and our assessments as to the quality of the products of the various makers.

My own assessment is that the current Alessi holsters are not at the top rung, but are decent holsters.

Regards,
Jerry

They had recently found my order for a CQC for G17 I placed with Lou, maybe 2 years ago. Now they're building it. I already have a CQC for a G19 from a few years before. So I should be able to do an A/B comparison -- same holster model, similar gun -- of the before and after era Alessi OWBs.

Considering I've been waiting since May '08, I think I've just been "Brommeland'ed". At least I don't have any money invested...

Gary Brommeland is still alive AFAIK, and has simply cashed your check and never given you a second thought.

Lou Alessi passed away in that interim, and they've been working to reconstitute the business.

You can't really compare the respective delays.

True statement. My beef isn't with Lou. It's with whoever is filling new orders first.

I think things are a bit haphazard over there right now, and I don't know if they're purposely taking orders out of order for a reason, or if maybe they just got mixed up somehow. I got a call today that they're finally going to start working on my order, which I placed in October of 2007, and yet I've heard of several new orders and old orders newer than mine getting made ahead of mine.

But I didn't complain nor did I ask why they're making them out of order; I was just glad to get the call and the last thing I wanted to do was get on their bad side! The guy I spoke with told me they have a backlog of 800 holsters, but they're working on them everyday. I think they're up and running pretty good now, so maybe if you call and raise a little hell they'll find your order and get to it. Good luck.
