fist or galco owb easy on
For my first non-pocket holster to carry my 642 in, I was thinking of either this Fist #2 ( first pick )
or this galco side snap scabbard ( 2nd pic ). Any thoughts on which one would be better ? Any thoughts on why I may not want to go with that style ? Your advice is appreciated. Thanks, floyd |

I would go with the FIST.
First, it will make retsupt happy. Second, it's adaptable and be used either IWB or OWB. Galco's aren't bad for off the shelf holsters, but the custom holsters are a step up in quality.

Thanks.
And the Galco is more expensive ! I saw it in the store, and it does look nice. The salesman said it was the most comfortable holster he knows of, due to it being so wide at the connection locations. But I couldn't try it because I didn't ( and still don't ) have a good belt. I may be wrong, but for the J frame I am not too worried about comfort because it's such a small and light little bugger. But I do want it to have the other important features, such as easy to draw from, rides tight, and secures the gun well. I appreciate your advice. Floyd |

I have both...the Fist is better quality and less money...and it will help my Fist stock portfolio...

I'd take a FIST over Galco any day and I like Galco!

I own some FIST holsters and some Galco holsters. You are better off to get the FIST.

Seems to be a rather onesided response.
I think I'll surround my gun with some fist-leather. Now, where can I get a good belt from ? Thanks !! Floyd |

Just like others have said, I have both FIST and Galco holsters also and FIST would be my choice. I like the Galco holsters that I have a lot also but the FIST are better IMO.
