What distance do you practice at the range?

Specifically say a 2" S&W Revolver, whats the best distance to practice at?

Or is it different for everyone?

If on my own and so able to use any range and discipline, then carry piece or similar is mostly done at 5 to 7 yards. Sometimes with movement drills in as close as 3 yards. All pretty ''close-in'' stuff.

I do also practice carry type handgun practice out to 25 yards so I know where they are impacting.

I like 7 - 15 yard practice the best.

Try some longer distances Say 15 yrds. Although, with a snubby I might keep 7 or 10 yrds for most of my practice.

With a pistol? Zero to 100 yards. 90% of my practice is inside of 10 yards.

Thanks for all the great feedback!

Glad to hear im in the ballpark. I took my snubby out for the first time today and kept the target at 20 feet. A gun this small definitely takes practice to get used to!

I really don't spend much time trying to punch bullseyes. I carry a 3" Kimber ~ not designed for competition shooting ~ and my main focus is to hit COM within 3 to 15 yards.
