Get snap caps for the caliber, make and model don't matter.

Get aluminum ones, they last longer than plastic.

definitely check out the links and other advice given so far. my thoughts are your pulling the trigger, not squeezing it. let the BANG surprise you and, IMO, use more of the finger tip, not anything on or below the second knuckle.

Buy some dummy rounds... LE Targets has a good price on them (they also have a ton of different targets).

not only will mixing in the dummy rounds help with curing the flinch/grip issues, it will also give you some practice on clearing malfunctions.

What I normally do is to dump a 100 live rounds and 20 dummy rounds into a pile and mix them up. Then load your mags without looking. Yeah, you can tell a difference in weight, but after you've loaded 2 or 3 mags you won't remember where the dummy rounds are in the magazine. Then just shoot away like you normally would. When you hit a dummy, you'll see whether or not you are flinching, then do a tap-rack and keep going.

IMHO the use of snap caps in a modern center fire semi-auto is a waste of time and money. Once upon a time they were needed but the modern pistols don't need them. It's sort of like "Do I need tubes in my tires, or not?"

left handers shooting to the right, right handers shooting to the left, usually nowadays, i find they're squeezing their whole fist to pull the trigger.

keep the other fingers pressure on the handle consistent, and watch your thumb. if its going in and down every time you pull the trigger, then you're squeezing the whole gun to fire.

just. bend. the. trigger. finger.... your forearm muscles shouldnt be getting a workout...
