Conceal Carry Course in middle of VA

I have a concealed weapons permit, but the class that I took was basically a handgun safety class. Now that I have a smaller gun (went from a GP-100 to a PM9), I'd like to get into a class that actually teaches you about carrying a concealed handgun.

I've done a good bit of research on the laws governing carrying, but I'm sure that I have more to learn. I thought that CVCC had a concealed carry class a year or so ago but it's no longer listed on their website.

thanks.

Can you be more specific about "middle of VA"?

You can check out PERRONI'S TACTICAL TRAINING ACADEMY

Or Defensive Training Concepts Inc. in Staunton, Rob99VMI04 took a course there and spoke highly of it HERE.

Specifically I'm looking for somewhere near Lynchburg.

The class that CVCC used to give was just the basic NRA course, I work with the guy that did them, you're really not missing anything extravagant. The closest thing to Lynchburg that's going to something "worth paying for" is going to be up in Staunton/Lexington with Randy (Defensive Training Concepts)

There's PSS and Roanoke Firearms (both in Roanoke), I don't know what RF teaches, and while I haven't attended a PSS class, some of their staff fails to impress me with their knowledge or lack thereof.

I hope their instructors are better than their other staff.

Thanks for mentioning us, JD.

Tubby, I can bring the training to you and a small group if you have a suitable facility. I had a precision rifle class at the Amherst IWL in the spring of '07. Maybe that place is still available?

Randy

Thanks Randy. I wasn't sure what was available out there and figured I'd get some ideas from here. I'm sure that I'll do something, I just won't be able to do it right now. Now that I have a direction to move, I can save up the money to get there :)
