Update on LFI April 09 LFI in Phoenix

This was my first time as an assistant instructor. I thin I did well in the instruction especially the evening reviews. Poor in the shooting because I used a cold gun without a zero. (Will take care of that today)
bikerrn was a solid student who ended up with a high score. So did Phil who turned out to be a fellow soldier in the Desert Dragons a number of years ago.
This was a smalish class (13) so there was much bonding and a lot of time for teaching.

This is from the 10 meter line, Weaver, Chapman, and Isosocles drills.

Mas talking about the death of Jack Weaver who we all owe a great debt of gratitude to.

Mr Threefeathers,

Thank you for your review session the night before the test. I was able to score 100% on the written portion and passed the shooting qualification with a better score than usual, for me. I do have room for improvement though.

Having been a fan of Ayoob, and very familiar with his work over the years, it was great to finally see how the theories and tactics came to be. Make no mistake about it people, Mr. Ayoob knows of what he speaks, and doesn't peddle bovine fecal matter.

If I could only have one gun class in my life, LFI 1 would be it.

That's pretty much what I thought after I took LFI-I.

Now I am under a month away from LFI-II and I am starting to get antsy. Can't wait!

Kaz, are you in the Wash State LFI II? Biker, Mas told me that all of the guys who took the review got 100% in the test. I guess I'll be conducting it when I help with LFI I in the future. I have to go back up to Phx to take the NRA class in defending the home so I can open up my own classes.

No, I am in the Indiana class. Driving distance, plus my FL license is good there... (Not to mention a couple months sooner. )

I understand that if I get to the LFI II course and then the III course that it will facilitate Mas being able to have an LFI II class in AZ because it will add an instructor. At least that's what I'm telling my wife.
Seriously my wife wants me to go, I enjoy it and when Mas visits she and Gail can have something to talk about.

One thing I've noticed, after taking the LFI 1 class, is that I feel I am better able to express myself in regards to self defense matters.

I'm still attempting to say the same thing, as I would say before the class, but just "more better" IMO. This class really stresses the cost of saving your life. I just hope I never have to pay that cost.

I will continue using conflict avoidance as my primary tactic, except at work where it's not always appropriate to use that tactic, but often times it is.

I don't have to like or agree with the tactic, I just have to recognize where I live and whom I work for and be sure that what I'm doing is the right thing. In short, I need to live in the world and see it for what it is, not what I wish it to be.

Biker where we live we have to be in condition orange much of the time, look what I happened on when I drove home from your house. I'm going to send my notes to every one in the class so you guys can start thinking about it.
I absolutely agree with you, wait untill you re-write your notes and see others, the proper termonology will come out when dealing with a situation.

By the way, if you guys are interested, PM me and I will give you a link to the notes I wrote up for LFI-1 when I took it in 2007. I'm happy to share with other LFI alumni...
