I too am a CAS shooter and have started also participating in IDPA matches. Surely a different skill set for each sport. Drawing your gun from from concealment, using cover, shooting on the move and avoiding non threat targets is a bit more real world than CAS, but CAS was never meant to simulate anything in the real world, just having fun pretending to be a cowboy. I enjoy both shooting sports.

But neither truly simulates a real world street encounter or gunfight. The targets are not capable of shooting you first or shooting back.

So....how bad are you hooked? You feel the need to go again right? Glad you had the experience. Some folks are not so lucky, and some will never take the opportunity.
