IDPA
I too am a CAS shooter and have started also participating in IDPA matches. Surely a different skill set for each sport. Drawing your gun from from concealment, using cover, shooting on the move and avoiding non threat targets is a bit more real world than CAS, but CAS was never meant to simulate anything in the real world, just having fun pretending to be a cowboy. I enjoy both shooting sports.
But neither truly simulates a real world street encounter or gunfight. The targets are not capable of shooting you first or shooting back. |
