Hope that isn't too confusing.
That's something I forgot to mention earlier. I put my gun at a 45 degree angle, so that the magazine doesn't have to travel as far to the magazine well.

Weakside, bullets forward. The important thing doing it this way IMO is to have the index finder along the front of the mag (with the bullets) to guide the mag into the mag well. Along with many other things in shooting, you do better if you point at it. Think about it. Trigger finger indexed along frame, pointing towards target. Thumbs pointed towards target. Now, in this case point the index finger towards the empty mag well (the target), and viola! Your chances of missing the mag well are drastically reduced. I also bring the gun closer to me and tilt the mag well slightly to the left. The closer things are to you the better control you have over them.

Exactly. Same here.
There is a quarter turn rotation of the magazine and the pistol, it's the most fluid way I've ever tried.

Tubby, someone needs to teach you how to load a magazine. Your pictures are extremely awkward and I can understand why you don't see a difference.

For continuity loading pistols, rifles and subguns from the reaction side bullets always towards the front. Finger tip on on the bullet and into the mag well.

Bullets facing forward.

As you can see in Tubby's pics, bullets toward the rear requires more elbow rotation outward, and the wrist to be overly articulated. The further your elbow is away from your body, the slower the movement.

One should not have to rely on the elbow being that far from the body to access the item, as one day you may not have the room to do so. What Tubby was showing in the pics is called a "cavalry draw"

And the pics of the bullets-forward were incorrectly done so, yes, it sucked. You simply reach down palm-in with your index finger along the magazine holder and grasp with the lower three fingers, just like when you draw your pistol from the holster with the index finger along the frame. Index finger naturally rests on the front of the magazine and you point your finger at the bottom of your firing-hand fist until your index finger hits the bottom of your firing-hand pinky. Shove the magazine into the well passed your pinky with your palm with some authority and slide release/slingshot to finish up.

Bullets forward. I can reload with my thumb and index finger. The plate goes to the palm. That is the correct way to load. M16, 1911, P2000, whatever.

Tubby, it looks like you are trying to use your whole hand to draw the mag. That's too much meat to metal, my friend. Just put your hand on the bottom the the mag, not all the way around it.

At work, I carry horizontal mags with the bullets down.
