Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

My usual carry is a Mini- AFCK from Benchmade. Good little knife, quick and most of all very secure in the hand. I Dremeled down the liner lock a bit for insurance, and rounded off all the edges on the G-10 scales to smooth it up some- it was eating my pockets alive.

I got my wife a CRKT Crawford/Kasper Small- she loves it (when she can find it...).

I like plain edges, no use here for serrations. I prefer an edge I can sharpen to suit me. Speaking of which, buy yourself a basic Lansky kit and save a lot of trouble for the next 20 years or so...

I was in the plain edge camp for a long time - however I've changed my mind. For a utility knife, serrations have numerous benefits and will do things that a plain edge won't. I would also go as far to say that they are probably the most aggressive meat cutters - but I'm not there enough to get a completely serrated knife.

If y'all haven't gone over there and looked yet, DO IT! it's worth your time. I'll definately be getting one of these when they hit the market.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.
