Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Amazes me

I was on a business trip and had drawings in hand (in a tube, see pic), at the check point I was denied access because the "plastic tube" could be used as a "weapon". To which I replied a purse with a 3' strap isn't? No avail...I had to throw it away (under cop watch at this point), and acquire a trash bag for the drawings BECAUSE they would NOT let me on the plane with the drawings rolled up.. even out of the tube....Frustrating to say the least.. Now it gets funny... 2 seats in front of me on the plane was a old lady with 12" METAL crochet needles (2 of em) (pic below). I was so ticked but really could do nothing at that point. So when I finally got home sent TSA a "friendly email" but sadly never heard back.

So needles to say pay attention to what's around you. There's always something.

Bar of soap is better, more discrete in carry-on. Inmates have used this one for a long time.

Also, a couple of rolled up magazines can do some real damage.

IMHO, what we really need on a plane for self defense is a few fellow Americans who will go Condition Red-Offensive the second some a$$hat with a box cutter stands up and threatens anyone.

If you are the badguy, even with a gun or huge knife, in that close of quarters you are not going to stop 4 or 5 like minded individuals who intend to assault you with extreme prejudice. The citizens don't even have to be skilled or trained, just a good half dozen people with the "You're not doing this to me today!" mindset...

The weapon I want on the plane is a good dozen of you guys... we would be fine.

Peanuts are the key..

Two in the nostrils so, you don't smell the fear.

Two in the ears so, you don't hear the yelling.

Then you go to work on the BG's

Ok..I ran out of ideas...

I wear a Zebra 701 pen that has a full steel body, point and ... well it is all steel. It is a pen but can be a nice stabby weapon ;)

A flashlight, a solid pen, & I take a cane with me nowadays (I have enough scars to show a need for it, lol).

The odds of a terrorist trying to take a plane are the stimulis plan (2 trillion) to one. The rules changed and they know it. They can stand up and yell with a machine gun and the rest of the plane will still stand up and stomp them.

A problem on the plane will be with a Adam Henry passenger or and intoxicated one. Requiring restraint not stabbing them in the neck with a Bic.

And for anyone not familiar with a Brachial stun, here is a sample.
This works I've used it real world.
