Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Wild Kat keychains...

Wild Kat Keychains

They are now made of an ultra-tough plastic material that is very hard to break, which is
exactly what you need should you ever have to use this device.

Problem is if caught trying to board aircraft with one of these will at
least get bounced from the plane while try to talk your way out of it -
if not wind in gray bar hotel. AFAIK these devices are banned from
aircraft under the heading of "martial arts devices" which cover
nunchuks, kubatons, throwing stars and other similar objects.

Objective is carry ordinary objects which can double as weapon if
need - pens, small maglite flashlights, carabiners, etc. These
common things dont look like a weapon so dont engender same
suspecion.

I was shopping at the local Walgreens the other day and I noticed that there are a ton of well constructed toothbrushes that could be used as a kubotan. The yhave them with blunt ends, tapered ends, rubber inserts on the grip for a secure hold.
No TSA agent is going to question a toothbrush in your carryon.
Prisoners have been using toothbrush handles for shivs for ages. If you're traveling through an airport thats a stickler for weapons or visiting a place where you absolutley can't carry a weapon, a toothbrush shouldn't be much of an eyebrow raiser.

Long handled (rat tail) combs are probably better - common object
can be carried on person. Tip can be sharpened to use as stabbing
weapon if need be....

TSA looks for these exact devices and if you try to get one on a plane you will find your self talking with a LEO...

I love those but besides the steep price point these tacticool pens are more like weapons you can write with instead of vice versa. I can't see even the most blunt witted TSA screener letting you on a plane with that.

I saw these at Lowes the other day. The Stanley Fat Max marker, $3.95 for a 2pak. They're sturdier than Sharpies and don't say "Hey, I'm really a weapon" like the Cold Steel Sharkie/Pocket Shark does. I picked a pair up and have been smacking the crap outta stuff with them with narry a scuff. The yellow inserts are kind of rubbery for a good grip.

Sorry for the small pic.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

I wear my HAIX P6 Airpower mid boots whenever I am on an airplane. I got them after NYPD and NY SWAT made them the official shoes after testing. They are surprisingly light and yet they can be used as a weapon in close contact areas like an airplane. If the supposed perps on the airplane are unarmed one can take them down, but if they have automatic weapons, one needs to be really skilled to turn the tables.

Kang, you're right on the markers, they really take a beating we use them on the job alot. As they get older the tops pop off a little easier, but they still make good Kubatons, even to wrist locks.
