Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

A plane is a cramped space. Use it to advantage. Seats are in the way, being stuffed under a seat or between them can help limit motion (the aggressor's and yours). There also are a number of other people on that plane with you. Use it to advantage. If clearly being assaulted violently, I doubt that nobody would do anything.

I'm no H2H instructor, and I am not speaking to defending against someone who has "arms" of sorts (knife, cutter, whatever). But even against an armed person, the cramped quarters can be leveraged.

Think of a badger in its den and how bloody difficult it would be to get to it. The operative word being "bloody." Defend in that manner.

The seat bottom can be used as a floating device or can be used to defend a box cutter or knive. You can loop your arm thru the strap. Not the greatest shield but it will work. IMHO if an attacker would try to put a box cutter or a knive today the planeful of passangers would kill the attacker without any remorse.

Just be sure to skip the "polymer knives". To me they just scream "arrest me"!

Oh and don't underestimate the power of a berret. YouTube - THE GUARDIAN ANGELS TRAINING WITH WING CHUNG AKA KHALIL

Check out this video at about 1:10, this is such BS and I can't believe that they actually teach it. I actually have issue with a lot of "techniqes" in this video.

While in the Army, our sister unit was Special Forces. They gave us a brief H2H class one morning, and pulled us into a room with 1 chair, a belt, a sock, a bic pen, and a bottle of water. They told us to pick one to use. Most picked the chair, 1 guy drank the water and I picked the bic pen. So, each one of us was taught what to do with what we picked. They taught me how to go for the throat with the pen and if the BG left it in, they would live. IF they pulled it out, they would most likely die. When I fly, I keep my keys handy, and a pen in my pocket. My belt is pretty hefty as well. Last time I was at the airport someone got busted for one of those polymer knives.

One item no one has mentioned is the fire extinguisher, can be used as a striking weapon or employed to blind an attacker.

Questionable techniques from a guy using a name of a Chinese martial arts system as a name (albeit, misspelled), and a B.S. title of Shihan.

I hope their berets can double as field dressings for sucking chest wounds.

The knife percussion hit disarms arms are done SO incorrectly, it's painful to watch. Nice way to get your palms and wrists flayed open. One of the gun disarms, the muzzle is pointed at his COM for nearly the entire technique. And what's with the Karate Kid blocks he shows?

If you want to DIE trying to defend yourself on a plane (or anywhere else), then this video is for you!

Or if you just want a good laugh. Or to throw up in your mouth a little.
