Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Screw a walking stick, I'm bringing my scissors!

here it is, straight from TSA's web site. "Scissors - metal with pointed tips and blades shorter than four inches" are allowed on airplanes. here's the link to TSA's site. Scroll down to "sharp objects".

As Reborn said watch out for the flying elbows ... we all know that they will create a really bad bruise if thrown by a tall blond, but also in many cases cause hemorriods <sp>.

You can have a kubaton...it just has to break down.

I have a set of quickair tire deflators. Unscrew them, plus your tip of choice before getting on. Screw it all back together after you board.

I have a metal "goth" hat spike that can thread into the open end.

Where did you get the quick air deflators from? Do you leave all the peices in a zip lock bag?

I just dump the pieces in my carryon. I bought them at 4 wheel parts. Off road warehouse sells them also, and you can get them online.

They gave us a brief H2H class one morning, and pulled us into a room with 1 chair, a belt, a sock, a bic pen, and a bottle of water. They told us to pick one to use. Most picked the chair, 1 guy drank the water
Did he get any 'special' treatment for that? :p
The full water bottle makes a good impact weapon. Allows you to hit somebody hard without breaking/damaging your fingers.

Surefire with the Defender bezel...
Bingo. I have this in my carry-on when I fly and pocket it when we get on board. In case I ever get told its illegal, I'm not too concerned. I wear a Wilderness Tactical belt. It got a heavy steel buckle on it and the end is velcro looped to wrap around the wrist. If it didn't break a bone, it would sure hurt like hell. The only downside is having to take it off through the metal detectors. A TSA agent actually looked at the belt once and was like 'Damn! You could cause some damage with this!" I just shrugged like I didn't know what he was talking about.

Also heard of using a pair of "meditation balls" (the ones you spin in your hands) in the bottom of a sock. Pens, keys, anything can be dangerous. Just look around and think about whats available on a plane.

The brain is the weapon. And as Brownie always says - The mind is the limiting factor.

Maybe someone should develop some defense tactics around the use of the spork. Its just about the only thing remotely sharp you can take on a plane these days.
