Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

It helped that I have had both knees replaced and I did need a walking stick. I also caried a couple of good quality writing pens in my Maxpedition Jumbo pack as backup.I never felt I was unarmed while on the plane. The streets of Paris and Rome at night are another story.
I always travel with a Cold Steel City Stick, but with just the round plastic top, I cut it down to just the right length to lean on (at 73 I don't need bum knees, I have a white beard!) this stick is hard, and just about unbreakable.

Slip your hand down a few inches, crutch tapper, slip you hand down the shaft about 12", because it is so light, you have an elbow/knee/side of head striking device... just an old guy with a walking stick.

Flashlights as weapons

Was in Prudential Center (aka THE ROCK) for a NJ Devils Hockey game last weekend - on entry had everyone empty out pocket
while security guard went over you with magnetic wand - forgot
carrying small Maglite flashlight in coat pocket (2 AA battery). Didn't
find it . Wonder if metal content and thats its aluminium had something to do with it

Unless you own a 1986 Yugo then that manuel is worthless. Does anybody know why Yugo had heated rear glass?

To keep your hands warm as you pushed the car.

Massad tells a Jeff Cooper story of two BG who jumped a frail old man with a cane. Jeff Cooper assures it was the last mistake those two BG ever made. IMO a sturdy cane is the ultimate covert weapon that can go anywhere

I just purchased a Bottle Bezel from Osprey (Welcome to Osprey Innovations, Home of Bottle Bezel and Bottle Bezel Jr.). It is a replacement cap for most water bottles and seems to be a pretty effective less lethal self defense tool for when I go running. Do you think the TSA would give me any problems if I carried one of these caps through security. I know I couldn't bring a water bottle but I could always buy one of those after getting through security and replace the cap then.

The Bottle Bezel was designed and and is marketed by a very close friend of mine. I have felt it first hand since we do gun and knife shows together. Another great transition tool that you can carry in your hand just about anywhere. I don't know of any issues with it in reference to carry on.
