Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

There was a situation about a year ago when I last came to Germany, where they allowed me to carry a 12 inch screwdriver (not counting the handle) on board from my computer work case, that I forgot I had in my carry on...

I opened my bag midflight to get my mp3 player or something, and saw the tools and was like, ****.... I felt very safe on that flight, well 3 flights with all the connectors, lol...

Interesting posts.

I never thought about weapons on a plane, but I will now.

I always take a good look around me at who is boarding the flight. I look for nervous behavior. And when I spot someone who is acting odd, I don't take my eyes off of them.

Isn't it a shame that we have to live like this?

But since 9/11, we know terrorists have chosen airplanes as their weapon du jour.

Always be vigilant.

Patti, and all.

It is not so much on the plane, still a good feeling though, it is the going to and from the Airport, and in places like the British Isles were my Glock 19 can not go!

Carry a wallet, but all cash in cargo side pockets of 511 pants, except for a couple of small bills and loose change, in left hand side pocket.
Cane in right hand. My secret weapon? My Liverpool accent.

I have a set of quickair tire deflators. Unscrew them, plus your tip of choice before getting on. Screw it all back together after you board.

I have a metal "goth" hat spike that can thread into the open end.
Forgive a newbie for dredging up an old thread. This is a great idea! Question: where'd you find the "hat spike" to finish it off? All the spikes I can find have separate screws.

Question as people have mentioned it is ok to use prior, but just to anyone that has flown very recently:

Any issues getting a Sharkie or Fenix TK10 (w/ the decent front bezel) on a plane these days (Im going for business and dont need to be detained or arrested in the process)?

Thanks

As a future airline pilot, (training now), I agree that anything can be used as a weapon, and appreciate everything done to prevent BG's.

That would generally be me.
Even before 9/11.

I am flying more and more. Smashing a terrorist's face into the edge of the overheard compartment would bring me great satisfaction.

There is very little room for swinging anything so you need to keep things in tight. I also practice moving in the isle without pumping into the seats in case I need to close the distance fast.

A SHARPEND #2 PENCIL or sharpend chop stix's no problems passing through security check and if you dont use them for a defence situtaution you can always use them to write with & to eat with on the plane HA HA
