Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

Can't help with a release date...the places I checked (including Benchmade) just say "coming soon."

I'm not a big fan of assisted-openers but I do like that design.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

The combo edge non coated is already available in stock on bm's website. Thankfully this one doesn't really tickle my fancy. I also don't need another knife.

I broke the top portion of my right hand years ago in a motorcycle accident, (just behind the base of the thumb), and I just don't have the thumb strength to flip a regular folder open with the thumb stud. Needless to say I fell in love with my first Kershaw Speed Safe!!

2 Weeks ago at a local gun show I got to check out Benchmade's new Apperition and man does that thing rock!!! Jumps out with some serious force, felt like an auto. I'm just not thrilled with the liner lock, so when I caught wind of the assited opener with the Axis lock,.....whoaa Nellie!!!

the mini-barrage is available and I really like mine... So much that I bought another assisted new for 2009, the Torrent.

For GREAT prices and fast shipping, try Shop for case knives, Kershaw and other discount knives at Knifeworks.com

As for the full size Barrage, I spoke with BM and they could not give me a ship date.

Whew!!! I just looked at it and decided that I dont need it, which is a good thing considering I just bought 3 Spyderco Native III's. 1 for my everyday jeans, 1 for my summer shorts, and 1 for my work pants. I know...I have a problem

Man I've been needing (wanting badly) a new knife. This looks like a positive option.

I know I'm lazy, but when you're too damn lazy to switch a knife from one pair of pants to another, that's pretty bad
