Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

I typically do not sharpen the top edges unless it's requested - then it's no big deal. :)

I saw the surgeon today and he said no surgery on the finger - he'd rather splint it for 6 weeks and see if the tendon grows back together.

I've noted that your blades are all straight, Valkman. Would making a blade with a slight curve in the blade and the grip be any kind of deal breaker? I have a concept double-edge fighting blade that I've been working on that I would like in D2.
You seem to have very reasonable rates for your blades and the quality is obviously there despite the lack of "bling" on them (a definite plus for me). Please send me a PM with some more info.

Right now I can't make anything until my fingers heal up, but sure I'd look at your design.

I would rather use the camp knife in a fight than the "fighters," but they all look good!

Oh, mercy, that injury must have hurt! Prayers up for healing! I know what it is like to wear a cast for 6 weeks while a nearly-severed tendon healed up.

Regarding fullers, I think they really, mostly, just make a larger blade a bit lighter, and a properly-placed fuller can help balance a knife, tuned to taste. I neither love nor hate fullers. Sometimes they look right; sometimes they don't. A fuller would look mighty strange on a samurai sword, for sure.

Thanks for sharing your band-saw incident. It’s a rude but sobering reminder that even a skilled craftsman can make a mistake
i.e. “accidental discharge”.
Regards,

Ha! I can't draw anything either so when I get an idea I rough it out on steel and start grinding and do my "drawing" with the grinder.
