Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

The problem is that they can arbitrarily set their own policy without going the route of legislating new law. That's not the purpose of agency control of policy. Policy should simply be how they exercise the duties already defined for them, not defining their own duties.

When knives are outlawed, only the criminals will have knives.

The GunShine State comes through again...it's a Concealed Weapon or Firearm License...guns, switchblades, and such......FL got it right!

Law enforcement & military are already exempt from the existing laws regarding auto & switchblades.....They'll just expand the 'authorized' list to include 1st responders.

Technically, such a regulation or law would include the utility knives that slide the blade out. Sheet rockers, carpet layers, roofers, how many other kinds of workers?

Send your TWO Senators and Representative in WDC an e-mail via their web page, tell them to tell the CBP Morons "to pack where the sun does not shine".

Switch Blade knives are legal in most parts of the world ! so why not the USA - the land of the free ? or was that the land of the use to be free ?

I told our Senators and Representative
1. Tell the CBP "to pack sand where the sun does not shine", this is Congress business not "paper pushing loafers govt admin business", just like Montana Senators did with military brass with DoD
2. Pass a law to legalized any and all knives including swtichblades, just like Congress did with the Dept of Interior Decorating on the conceal carry in National Parks
3. Congress send a formal letter to all these "paper pushing loafers govt administrators worried about their job security" to sit down, shut up or get fired and that Congress the elected representatives of the people are in charge not them

Breaking News: We have recieved word that U.S. Customs & Border Protection has DENIED the numerous requests for extension that it had recieved and is planning to stick with the June 21 deadline for comments.

CBP's denial of an extension seems to be a clear indication that they do not intend to act in a fair and reasonable manner on this issue and have already made their decison to go ahead. That means we have to set the stage for the next act, which will likely be conducted both in court and in Congress. The battle is far from over, your comments will play a role in both efforts.

Knife Rights is developing a new comments letter for concerned knife owners to send to CBP and a strong email to send to Members of Congress. We are not about to roll over for this clearly out-of-control government agency.

We'll be posting new letters and additonal information in the next 24 hours.

Thumbs up Knives to be protected..........

Another assault on freedom has been averted. The NRA reports that legislation has been passed unanimously, by the US Senate to prevent the US Customs service from classifying all assisted opening knives as switchblades.
The Obama administration has remained mum on the action by the Customs service. One can only assume that the Customs Service was acting with the full knowledge of the Obama regime.
