Defensive Knives & Other Weapons Most people that carry a gun also carry a knife or other weapon as a backup. Finding a good blade is often harder than finding a good pistol or revolver.

So you finally decided to get out of the Peoples Republic of NY and move to America (Georgia) where you can exercise your 2nd amendment rights :). Good for you. Unfortunately those of us that are stuck in downstate NY need other options.

I started teaching MA on Long Island ten years (Jiu-Jitsu & Eskrima). Over the years I began investigating different edged weapon systems and was introduced to Martial Blade Concepts in 2004, made my first trip to Colorado to train with Michael Janich in 2005 (followed by trips in 2006, 2007 and 2008). Over these years I began incorporating the system into the cirriculum at my school and formally began teaching the entire system two years ago after receiving proficiency and associate instructor certification. Last year I was honor to receive full instructor certification in the system from Michael Janich.

If you're ever in the area to visit family and friends give me a heads-up and well see if we can get together to train. I'm teaching classes in Lindenhurst and Hicksville.

Will do! THANKS!! Did some training with a good friend during lunch for a couple of years. Like you, he's a true student of many disciplines(but a long-time practionier ofi Chinese Go-ju with Master Ron Van Clief in Manhattan)and taught me alot. Wish I had gotten into it younger. Looking at Krav Maga as something practical to add to my previous training. At 46, I'm too old to be a "dojo ballerina". What's the retired cop(famous)who had the studio in Linenhurst by the LIRR crossing?? I'm drawing a blank???

And YES it is nice to live in a RED State like GA. I could carry in NY because of the job, but never liked the anti-gun mentality. I LOVE NY, but it is a shame what the liberals have done to the once great Empire State!Down here guns are a part of everyday life and people like it that way!! Now if the pizza would get better!!! Thank God it's only a 2 hr. flight up!!!

That would be Phil Messina and the school is still there on Wellwood Avenue (Modern Warrior). Down and dirt self-defense with no fluff.

P.S. Last call for anyone in the area and interested in MBC.
